Pick up at your hotel and drive to monastery Ostrog.
Ostrog Monastery is a place of profound spiritual significance and architectural wonder. Perched on the vertical cliffs the monastery, dating back to the 17th century, is a major pilgrimage site for Orthodox Christians.
It was founded by Saint Basil of Ostrog, who dedicated his life to spreading Christianity and performing miracles. The monastery is divided into two parts: the Upper Monastery, built into the vertical rock face, and the Lower Monastery, nestled at the foot of the mountain.
The Upper Monastery, with its whitewashed walls and gleaming golden dome, seems to merge seamlessly with the natural rock formations. It houses the relics of Saint Basil, and UNESCO-protected frescos from the 17th century, attracting pilgrims who come seeking spiritual solace and healing
Orthodox Christians, Roman Catholics and Muslims, but also atheists, consider this a holy place. They all believe that the relics of Saint Basil bring miracles, and many of those stories are documented.
And the fact that all religions are equally welcomed here makes the Ostrog monastery one of the biggest sanctuaries in the world.
Whether you're a religious pilgrim or a curious traveller, a visit to Ostrog Monastery is an unforgettable experience that combines spirituality, architectural marvels, and natural splendour. It is a place where faith, history, and natural beauty converge, leaving a lasting impression on all who visit.
Drive to Pluzine, Boat tour on Piva Lake with lunch included
Nestled deep within the winding canyon of the Piva River, Piva Lake is a truly breathtaking sight to behold.
What many may not realize is that this stunning body of water is actually man-made, created in 1975 through the partitioning of the Piva Canyon in order to build the hydroelectric power plant "Mratinje." This towering dam stands at an impressive height of 220 meters, making it one of the highest in Europe.
With a length of 45 kilometres and depths reaching up to 200 meters, Piva Lake is the largest artificial lake in Montenegro.
Experience its beauty firsthand with a boat tour that takes you on a relaxing cruise across the shimmering waters, complete with swimming breaks and even a chance to explore the stunning Oteša cave, which may not always be accessible due to changing water levels.
As you glide along the lake, take in the distinctive blue-green hue of the water, a stunning reflection of the dense forests that overflow from the towering mountain ranges of Piva and Durmitor that surround the lake.
And as you soak up the scenery, your knowledgeable guide will share fascinating facts and legends related to the Piva region, including the history of the old and new town of Plužine, which was relocated to make way for the dam.
In the end, the towering mountains and deep blue waters of the Piva Lake, the power of nature and the power of mankind work in harmony to create a truly magnificent landscape, one that must be seen to be believed.
Embark on an exhilarating 3-hour speed boat tour in Kotor, Montenegro, and discover the breathtaking beauty of the Bay of Kotor from a unique perspective.
As you step aboard the speed boat, you'll feel the excitement build as the engine revs up, ready to take you on an unforgettable adventure. The tour begins with a thrilling ride across the azure waters of the bay, with the wind in your hair and the sun on your face.
As you cruise along, you'll be treated to panoramic views of the dramatic coastline, characterized by rugged mountains that seem to plunge directly into crystal-clear waters. One of the highlights of the tour is a visit to the picturesque Our Lady of the Rocks, a man-made island with a charming church and a fascinating history.
You'll have the opportunity to step ashore, explore the island, and admire the stunning interior of the church, adorned with centuries-old artworks.
As you continue your adventure, the boat may make stops at secluded swimming spots, allowing you to take a refreshing dip in the pristine waters of the bay.
Throughout the tour, keep your eyes peeled for marine life such as dolphins, which occasionally make appearances in the bay. Spotting these playful creatures in their natural habitat adds an extra layer of excitement to the experience.
The next stop, preceded by circling the spectacular island Mamula is the Blue Cave on Lustica Peninsula – accessible only by boat(!).
Its name derives from the beautifully nuanced blue water inside the cave, created by reflections from the light hitting the sandy bottom. The blue light radiates so brightly that one can see it even while approaching the spot.
Before the end of the tour, we will visit an ex-submarine military base and enter one of the tunnels.
These tunnels were constructed to serve as a secure hiding place and maintenance facility for submarines of the Yugoslav Navy.
